Our Ethos

Although we want the students to enjoy there classes and have fun, we do expect them to work hard and learn.

Our tutors classes are planned to maintain a balance, between technique and performance, ensuring that while students continue to progress in an art form, they always maintain their enthusiasm for it.

We push our students to the highest standards knowing all to well with over thirty five years of experience just what amazing results children can achieve and just how much their confidence can grow.

Ambassadors

Any student wearing an 'Ambassador' pin badge of our logo is a selected representative of the students in their class.

They promote our ethos, work hard within their classes, challenge themselves, ensure new students can find their way and help us to maintain a happy and professional relationship between tutors and students at our school.

Free Trials

We offer free trials in all of our classes so a student can try out anything they want before making a ciommitment to a calls. For our examination classes we offer a two week trial. This also gives out tutors an opportunity to see if the class is right for the student. As long as we have room in a class you can take advantage of a FREE TRIAL at any point during the year.

Feedback

Each student is known individually by all their tutors. We know their strengths  and where they need improvement. At any point during a term just e-mail feedback@bodens.co with a student's name and you will receive a written progress report from all their tutors. There is no charge for this service. You can also speak to a member of staff at anytime on 020 8447 0909 or in person, but please refrain from discussing any non urgent issues with a tutor if they are teaching another class. They will always give you a call if you let the admin team know.

Uniform

Although we have some branded t-shirts, sweatshirts and hooded tops available to buy, the majority of our students do not have to wear a uniform, just loose comfortable clothing they can move about in. You can purchase our merchanidise from a member of our admin team.

For our dance classes we do require uniforms to be worn by all of our students
For your conveniance, you can purchace them easily online, from IDS:

Settling Students

In the majority of cases, the best way to settle new students is for parents to get them to go in on their own. If parents remain, students usually refrain from taking part, and in addition, it is only postponing the inevitable moment when they must let go and take that jump.

However, we do appreciate that every child (and parent) is different, and although this is usually the best way, on occasion parents may sit in with the child for the first few minutes if they struggle to settle. We're always happy for children on an 'off day' to come back and try again.

Behind The Scenes

For students that prefer to work behind the scenes, we have many ways in which they can help and learn a craft at the same time. There's rigging and operating the lighting and sound equipment, taking the role of a member of our backstage crew during productions, or as a camera man, sound operator or editor making one of our on-line behind the scenes shows.

These programmes are filmed, edited and presented by students, complimenting every single Bodnes production. This not only offers so many more unique experiences and opportunities to all our students, but also giuves those not involved directly with a production the chance to watch the process from rehearsal to stage, and involves everybody as a community. All these programmes air on our main website and social networking groups.

Community

We always support the community and many of the local schools are on our 'friends list'. Those schools advertise our classes to their pupils amd parents and in return we support their events and help with costumes, staging and technical equipment. We're always looking for more school's to our 'friend's list'. We also share website links and advertising with local businesses. CLICK HERE to see some of our friends.

Introducing Students

As a current student, if you introduce a new family to Bodens, whatever fees they pay in their first term, 25% of the amount will be deducted from your fees the following term. There is no limit to how many families you can introduce and in the event of the deduction being more than your termly fees, the amount will be carried on to the next term.

Terms And Conditions

After a new student's free trial, you may pay on a weekly basis for up to three weeks to decide if the class is right for you. Class fees are then paid on a termly basis in advance. Students mustpay for every week of the term regardless of their attendance. Pleaser let us know as early as possible if a student does not wish to continue in a class the following term so we may offer their place to someone on our waiting list.
We pride ourselves on being amicable about fees. If you ever have any problems with payments, please don't hesitate to contact our accounts on 020 8447 0909. We will be happy to help in any way we can. If you have a valid reason for not continuing classes part way through a term, please contact us to discuss the possibility of a refund of your termly payment. In most cases this will be given.

If fees of a current student have not been paid by the fourth week of term a charge of £2 wil be added to the account to cover the cost of our staff contacting you regarding the outstanding account. A charge of £2 will be added to the account on each further occasion a member of staff has to contact you regarding an outstanding account. If a letter is sent via recorded delivery regarding an outstanding account, the postage costs will be added to the account. There will be no charge for the polite text and e-mail reminders we send porior to the fourth week of term or by phone to new students advsing you that payment is due.
Attending classes makes you a student of Bodens, not the particular tutor; therefore we reserve the right to change a tutor without prior notification on either a temporary or permanent basis.
